  Becoming independent of British rule has not yielded the anticipated ‘freedom’, in my opinion.   On this 29 th day of May  2023, I welcome our new President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to the reality that without a courageous remodel of Nigeria’s governance structure, renewed hope may be a renamed hype. The recent constitutional devolution of rail and power matters to the subnational governments notwithstanding, the road to attainment of federalism by an acclaimed Federating entity called Nigeria is still far ahead.
